The War for America's Soul

It is likely that most Americans who lived through any of the wars of the 20th Century could not imagine that there would ever be a serious discussion in America about abandoning free-market capitalism for socialism, let alone the consideration of the idea of going down that path toward communism. Those of us who know true American and world history and witnessed the wars of the 20th century recognize that communism and totalitarian regimes have destroyed millions of lives. The citizens of communist-controlled countries like China can only dream of the freedom that we enjoy as Americans. The mere suggestion that Americans consider adopting these ideologies that are antithetical to America’s founding principles and core values strikes terror in American citizens who escaped with their lives from communist countries such as Vietnam, the former Soviet Union, Cuba, and Venezuela. Alarmingly, what is playing out in America right now is like deja vu for them.
So, what happened?

Vladimir Lenin was a Russian revolutionary, politician, and political theorist, who campaigned for the overthrow of capitalism and its replacement with socialism. In 1917, he played a leading role in the October Revolution in which the Bolsheviks overthrew the Russian Provisional Government that was established after the overthrow of Tsar Nicholas II in the February Bourgeois Democratic Revolution of that year. Lenin served as head of government of Soviet Russia from 1917 to 1924 and of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1924. Karl Marx’s 1867 book “Das Kapital”[1] sparked his interest in Marxism, a socio-political theory that argued that society developed in stages and that this development resulted from class struggle, and that capitalist society would ultimately give way to socialist society and then communist society. Lenin fully embraced Marxism and produced a Russian language translation of Marx and Friedrich Engels’ 1848 political pamphlet, “The Communist Manifesto.” Under his administration, Russia, and later the wider Soviet Union, became a one-party Marxist-Leninist state governed by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Lenin’s supporters viewed him as a champion of socialism and the working class, while critics on both the Right and Left emphasized his role as founder and leader of an authoritarian regime responsible for political repression and mass killings.[2]
Communism launched from Lenin’s October Revolution and spread to China with Mao Zedong’s rise to power, and to Cuba with Fidel Castro’s takeover. It was the ideology behind one side of the Cold War that began in 1945 after the USSR declared victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. In 1946, Great Britain’s Prime Minister Winston Churchill made his famous “Iron Curtain” speech, alerting Americans to the division between the Soviet Union and the Western allies. In 1947, President Harry S. Truman addressed Congress in what would come to be known as the Truman Doctrine, calling for the containment of communism. This became the basis for America’s Cold War policy.[3]
It is perhaps a little-known fact that in 1963, a list of 45 communist goals -- that were published in the bestselling book “The Naked Communist” at the height of the Red Scare in 1958[4] -- was read into the Congressional Record.[5] The purpose was to raise awareness of these goals and how they explicitly erode American values and traditions. While some goals were tied to the times (e.g., East and West Germany), others are timeless. It is particularly important to note goals 15 through 45, which are listed here.
Communist Goals (excerpt):
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45. Repeal the Connally reservation[6] so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.
Reflecting on this 1963 list and on all of the changes that have occurred in America over the past 58 years, how much progress do you think the communists have made in achieving their stated goals?

In 2010, filmmaker Curtis Bowers, a former state representative from Idaho, produced the documentary “AGENDA: Grinding America Down,”[7] which was hailed as “the most powerful expose of the communist, socialist, progressive attempt to take over America produced so far.” He was so alarmed with what he discovered about why America was collapsing from within that he was motivated to use his life savings to make the documentary. In 2016, Bowers released “AGENDA 2: Masters of Deceit” in which he looked at several key institutions the Marxist and socialist radicals have hijacked. “Through the subversion of issues like healthcare, education, environmental threats, and religious extremism, the Left has slowly and systematically convinced the public that the answer for such issues doesn’t rest with God or a free people, but with the State. This Marx-inspired collectivism has undermined the values and threatened the very liberty that America’s Founding Fathers sacrificed everything to establish [here in] the United States.” Bowers continues, “The Left wants you to believe that catastrophe is just around the corner and the only way to avoid it is to do exactly what they say. Everything they do is just a trojan horse of deceit. Carefully crafted to hide their real agenda of finishing America off. ...the issues are simply being used as a smokescreen to hide the purposeful and premeditated treasonous attacks on the foundation of our freedoms. ...The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.”[8]
Bowers shared that in one of the many thousands of screenings of AGENDA a person stood up and said that he wanted to congratulate them on their thorough research. The man, a professor at the college, said, “I am a Communist and we will win because we have the minds of your children.” The man then walked out of the room.[9] Bowers, whose film forecasted much of what is happening in the US today, stated in a recent interview that the communist’s goal #17 “Get control of the schools…” has largely been achieved and has created many of the problems Americans face today. “One day you’ll awake and you will have a people that not only want what you’re selling, but they’ll also need it because the moral fiber will [have] broken down the character so much. They need big government; they literally can’t take care of themselves. They have not the character or the virtue to do that...”[10]
In October 2020, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation released its “Annual Report on US Attitudes Toward Socialism, Communism, and Collectivism,” which found that a concerning amount of Millennials (anyone born between 1981 and 1996) and Gen Z-ers (anyone born after 1996) are in support of eliminating capitalism in favor of socialism. Also, an astounding number of Gen-Z-ers have warmed up to Marxism in the past year, going from 6% in 2019 to an inconceivable 30% this year.[11]
American History

The one who controls the flow of information and culture directs the narrative. The one who controls education can indoctrinate the young and the vulnerable. Progressives have been infiltrating colleges and universities since the 20th century. A 2018 study published by the National Association of Scholars[12] found that the ratio of Democrat professors to Republican is 12.7 to 1 and 39% of the colleges had no faculty that were Republican. These professors are indoctrinating young adults who then go out into the workforce — many of whom become school board officials, union heads, and teachers. A 2017 survey conducted with over 1,200 K-12 teachers found only 27% of teachers identify as Conservative (Republican).[13] Progressives have the majority influence over curriculum, so is it any surprise that Marxism and Critical Race Theory are being taught in K through 12 schools and universities?

In a recent interview, Alex Newman, author, and award-winning international journalist said that the history currently taught in public schools is “a complete and total reversal of reality” and the root cause of the civil unrest that has spread across the nation because the curriculum incites children to hate America.[14] He went on to say that what defines American people as Americans are principles enshrined in the country’s founding document, the Declaration of Independence, “that all men are created equal, and that everyone is endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights.” In contrast, the historical narrative now being taught in schools reversed those principles, claiming that the country’s founding principles were slavery, oppression, racism, and white supremacy.
A notable example of US history reversal is a New York Times series called the 1619 Project that was created by New York Times reporter Nikole Sheri Hannah-Jones in 2019. The opening line of the essay that won her a Pulitzer was, “Our democracy’s founding ideals were false when they were written.” Many top historians rang alarm bells about the “glaring factual inaccuracies” with the 1619 Project, which attempts to “reframe the country’s history” by suggesting America’s “true founding” was when the first slaves arrived in 1619. The historians’ concerns were legitimate but largely ignored, and several public schools proceeded to implement it as part of their curriculum.[15] The 1619 Project became a favorite tool of the Left’s cancel culture.
In a speech at the National Archives in September 2020, President Trump called out the Left’s cancel culture. “American parents are not going to accept indoctrination in our schools, cancel culture at work, or the repression of traditional faith, culture, and values in the public square. Not anymore…” He said Critical Race Theory, the 1619 Project “and the crusade against American history is toxic propaganda — an ideological poison that, if not removed, will dissolve the civic bonds that tie us together.”[16]
It is important to note that we have witnessed the destruction of American history not only by the rewriting of it in our schools but also in the tearing down of monuments across the nation. Those who know history recognize that countries like Cuba and Venezuela did the same as they fell to communism.

The 7 Pillars of Color Revolution in Action
Several Color Revolution specialists were diplomats during the Obama administration. Michael McFaul, introduced in the previous post, was notable among them, being both a former ambassador to Russia and the author of the 7 Pillars of Color Revolution. Norman Eisen, Washington DC lawyer and former ambassador to the Czech Republic, also stood out as one of the most influential of these specialists. Eisen wrote “The Democracy Playbook: Preventing and Reversing Democratic Backsliding,”[17] a 100-page report which is effectively the playbook for Color Revolution. In 2003, he co-founded Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) and served as counsel for the Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment process of President Donald J. Trump in 2020.[18]
Color Revolutionaries such as these have set the stage and the 7 Pillars of Color Resolution are now playing out before our eyes in America. The following are just some examples of the manifestation of each pillar.
Semi-autocratic regime:
America does not have a semi-autocratic regime, but since the day that President Trump was sworn in the Left and their mainstream media partners have crafted and repeated the narrative that he is a fascist -- going so far as to call him a modern-day Hitler.
The same perpetuate the semi-autocratic narrative by projecting upon Trump the nefarious deeds that they have done or would like to accomplish if they were in power. It doesn’t matter that Trump hasn’t done anything like it -- as long as the story is told often enough, it will be perceived by some to be the truth.
An unpopular incumbent:
This narrative also started on day-one of Trump’s presidency.
Their claims were devoid of facts but their objective was to divide the base, which they have done over the past 4 years.
A united opposition:
ANTIFA and BLM riots earlier this year were just the start
Those groups plan to return to the streets following the election, joined by more far-Left activist groups like Indivisible[19] and Stand Up America,[20] and the Sunrise Movement[21] trained by groups like Organizing for Action’s (OFA) Community Organizing Institute (COI), introduced in the previous post, and Momentum[22]
The AFL-CIO is calling for a labor strike after the election “to effectively resist an attempted coup by Trump”[23]
Independent electoral-monitoring capabilities:
The media is effectively casting doubt about the integrity of the election
The given narrative is that Biden will ultimately win the election and that Trump will not accept the results and refuse to leave office
A modicum of independent media:
The media is already publishing scenarios that align with what was published in the Transition Integrity Project (TIP) report covered in the previous post
The media started playing out this narrative on 1 SEP 2020 with the publication of an article by Axios entitled “Exclusive: Dem group warns of apparent Trump Election Day landslide.” It just so happens that the “Dem group,” Hawkfish, is funded by Michael Bloomberg and does work for the Democratic National Committee and pro-Biden Super PACs.[24]
Mobilizing the masses:
It has been happening for years with groups like OFA and their COI, as discussed in the previous post
Per the TIP’s wargame, post-election the Biden team will launch their thousands of social influencers and “peaceful rallies” that they expect to become violent
Indivisible published “A Practical Guide for Resisting the Trump Agenda”[25] and has now joined forces with Stand Up for America to create Protect the Results[26]
According to the Protect the Results website, they are organizing “a coalition of voters ready to mobilize if Trump refuses to accept the results of the election.”[27]
Millennial Millie spent two years infiltrating leftist organizations to expose their intentions. She recently published a trailer for her latest documentary, “Sunrise Exposed”[28] that is worth watching to gain insight regarding some of the anarchy being planned following the election
Splits among the “guys with guns” (the state’s military, police, and security forces)
Michael McFaul, in an apparent celebration of step 7 of his color revolution plan, wrote the following on Twitter on 4 SEP 2020: “Trump has lost the Intelligence Community. He has lost the State Department. He has lost the military. How can he continue to serve as our Commander in Chief?”
McFaul subsequently deleted the tweet, but exposed the plan nonetheless
What lies before us

When one reflects on the 1963 list of Communist objectives and the platform of the current Democratic party in recent history, there are many similarities. Looking deeper into America’s election history, it is interesting to note the following. Norman Thomas, a six-time Socialist Party candidate for US President, reportedly said, “The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened…. I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform.” Furthermore, since 1988, the Communist Party of the USA (CPUSA) has stopped running its own candidates and has 100% of the time endorsed Democrat candidates as their candidates. In 2012, Sam Webb, then-leader of the CPUSA, came out to support President Barack Obama’s re-election. Webb said that with Obama’s victory “that is the ground on which people fight going forward” with “the emergence of a multi-racial, male-female, working-class-based electoral coalition that has the potential to transform America in the years and decades ahead.” They do not even seem to be trying to hide that the Democratic Party is a tool of CPUSA and Marxists in general.[29]
Heading into the 2020 presidential election, former presidential candidate and Obama-era Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that “Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances because I think this is gonna drag out, and eventually I do believe that he will win if we don’t give an inch.”[30]
The players that affected Color Revolutions around the world, most recently during the Obama administration, are aligned once again. They appear to have a singular objective to continue the “fundamental transformation” of America that President Trump put to a halt, by inciting a Color Revolution in America. American patriots must recognize that we are being played. We must not add to the chaos or engage in the violence that the Left is planning to unleash on America.
This is the most important election of our lifetimes and the most consequential in American history. It is truly a war for America’s soul. Freedom is not free and is not to be taken lightly. So many have risked everything and paid with their lives for the freedom we enjoy today. May their sacrifice not be in vain. American patriots must vote for their values and take a stand to defend that which we hold most dear.
